27 December, 2017
We are just a few days away from bidding 2017 a goodbye. It feels like we welcomed 2017 yesterday with much fanfare and a heart full of hopes. How quickly did this year pass? I just want to sit and reminisce everything; the good, the bad EVERYTHING!
I read this somewhere on the internet “2017 was a weird year because I was somehow living the best and worst life at the same time” and nothing ever made this much sense to me. On the personal front, it was a cray cray year. Met so many new people, did the things which I thought I never could, overcame my stage fright, embarked a step towards my dream and most importantly learned, learned from the experiences and shaped myself. With so many blessings on my plate, 2017 really served some dreadful moments too. Life fell apart at a point of time when I left the place which I used to call home, lost people without whom my heart couldn’t do but I am taking it all with a heart full of gratitude and love. After all, what life would be without experiences, right?
How was your year like? Well, may it be a good, bad or something in between just like me, it’s never too late to start again fresh. I know, I know, you must be thinking that she is going to tell about “New Year, New Me” crap but isn’t it amazing to feel that life has favored you with a chance to change it all, to begin with it again. Maybe this year will be a total game changer, who knows? All we could do is have faith and start it afresh. So, whether you are heading out to a party or a low-key celebration for New Year, these 2 outfit ideas will come handy to you. I have prepared two looks keeping brunch and late night parties in my mind.
If you know me, you know that this is my go-to look because shoes girls! I am totally a brunch kinda person. I love to spend my New Year’s Eve at home with my family. In this look, I have paired up a sweatshirt dress with exaggerated tie-up sleeves. I paired it with my mesh skirt but here’s the trick, I didn’t go for the usual tuck in style rather I just let my dress fall over the skirt. Feels like I am kinda into Anti-fit, eh? Heck yes! I curled up my hair a bit, went for a subtle makeup look and took a slogan striped bag to make a statement. The “Make a change” print on the strap of my bag doesn’t just look cool but is a reminder “to create, to reshape”. I bought this bag just for its printed strap. Also guys, I have altered the bag here, this is not the original bag with which the strap came in. At last, I put on my metallic shoes because a dash of shine makes the outfit straightaway New-Year worthy.
Let’s be honest, when it comes to New Year Eve’s party, all of us want to turn the heads. Your outfit should reflect the festive vibe and this is the reason why I ditched the color black and went ahead with mustard. I paired my basic mustard sweater with silver velvet pants. Velvet is a failsafe party wear and it will continue to capture hearts in 2018 as well. So, it’s a good time to jump on the velvet bandwagon, after all a little shine doesn’t harm anybody. I was lucky enough to have mustard mules and a mustard clutch (it was impromptu though). So matchy-matchy and eye-catchy (that rhymed lol). Here’s the tip for matching outfits with your footwear – Always buy your footwear first, you’ll be able to find matching tops and dresses. For accessories I went for golden statement hoop earrings, I feel the earrings blended with the look perfectly. The color pop flawlessly illuminates the greyness of the season.
