As you all know that winter is knocking on our doors and I can finally say that “Winter is here” aloud. Okay, admit it you too have waited winters to show up so that you can say the exact same lines on top of your lungs. I have seen people hating the winter season because they have to put their summer wardrobe at bay, nobody wants to leave their bed and everybody is practically in hibernation mode. We become too lazy to do even the smallest of things. Inactivity increases and your willingness to show at college or work decreases proportionally. Now, you may look at these things as an excuse to despise winters, or you can just flip the coin and get to know the other side of the story. Winters is the only time, which brings your family together. Now, in summers we are mostly outdoors hanging out with our friends, enjoying parties and nightlife. But when the cold winds start to blow, we spend most of the times indoor with our family. If you want to love winter too, then think about the times when you and your family stood by the barbeque and made delicious delicacies together. Or the times, when you went out on a picnic with your family. Can you say that those moments were not priceless? A hot chocolate drink with your loved one on a cold winter night and binge-watching Netflix in the comfort and cosiness of your favourite blanket is beyond blissful. This literally makes me adore winters.
Now, you must be thinking about all those invaluable memories of your life associated with the season you once despised. Does that bring a smile on your face? I bet, it does. Because right now I am too thinking about those good old and cold days. Now let me get to the ones, who are probably more concerned about their wardrobe. I know girls, that you must be thinking about how to revamp your wardrobe so that you can utilize your gorgeous summer clothes in winters too. Now, when I was not a blogger, I was inspired by other bloggers and I always took fashion inspiration from them. Needless to say, I saw countless videos to transition into winters very smoothly but that rarely happened. Every blogger had their own fashion choices and they dressed accordingly. But to find a blogger who has the same fashion choice as yours was a ground-breaking task back then. Things have changed now and I can surely give you a few noteworthy points to transform your winter wardrobe into a success story. Keep scrolling to know how.
This time I will not simply tell you about the look, but would rather show you how I transformed this beautiful floral printed dress from Sassy Stripes into a winter-worthy look. Now, this dress gives beautiful spring vibes and has a floral pattern. Just like other summer dresses, this dress is also sleeveless which makes it anti-winter for some. The dress has a very subtle turquoise colour which makes it an elegant and graceful attire. The bright floral patterns in multicolour and the side slits make the dress bold and edgy. Overall this dress is a combination of grace and charm. Now for some of you, this dress definitely has no place in your winter closet. Obviously, because florals are synonymous to the spring season. And winters are only meant for dark and gloomy colours. I will not blame you for thinking this way because our minds are filled with colour schemes based on the season. In summers you wear pop pink and in winters you switch to neutrals. So your winter closet must be stocked with blacks, dark blues, greys, everything darker or everything neutral. Is this what you think too?
If so, then you have landed yourself in the right place because I am going to change your perspective today. Yes, you heard it right. I can be really persuasive at times. Without much ado, let us see how I have planned to style this wonderful spring dress into a gorgeous winter ensemble.
First Winter Style Tip - Always invest in classic and statement pieces. Be it summer or winters, we must invest well in the statement and classic outfits that will never go out of trend. This theory, however, becomes a necessity in winters because winter clothes are comparatively expensive than summer dresses.
Now, my classic piece here is this Beige Long Coat. Beige is one of the safest colours and can blend in effortlessly with any other colour, no matter how lighter or darker the shade is. The next plus point of wearing beige is that it elevates the elegant side of the look. Now, choosing the beige long coat served three purposes here. Firstly, it is classy and timeless. Secondly, it blends seamlessly with the turquoise colour of the dress and the bright print both. Lastly but most importantly, it keeps your body warm, gives the much-needed cosiness during the cold season. A multitasker indeed. Next comes the kind of footwear that I can go for. A classy dress like this will surely strike a chord with heels. So there you go, beige block heels to match the beige long coat and keeping up with the sophistication. My heels here are open-toed. I would strongly suggest you go for pumps, or high heeled boots if you live in colder places than Delhi. They will keep you warm and with heels, you will get that extra confidence as you walk down your path.
I finished off the look, by adding a subtle baby pink clutch as an accessory. The benefit of wearing a multicolour printed dress is that you can go for accessories with multiple colours that are already present in the floral patterns. It gives you the choice to select from a vast range of colours and you can never go wrong with this formula. Finally, I curled my hair at the edges to make it look voluminous (to be honest, it saves your ear from the chilly winds).
Now tell me would you consider hiding your bright and shiny clothes away the entire winter season or would you choose to give them a chance to prove their worth. Don’t classify your dresses or outfits as anti-winter yet. Rather look for alternatives to incorporate them somehow in your winter looks. Tell me how did you find this look and how are you going to style your summer dresses in winter in the comments section below.
