Hello beautiful ladies,
How are you all doing? This time of the year calls for some relaxing vacay vibes. So I'd like to know if you are back from your vacation or planning to check out someplace off your travel bucket list? For my beautiful girl bosses, who still haven't figured out where to go, read this blog post of mine from last year to get started. Well, your girl is back from her dream vacation and let me tell you, it was hella amazing. The worst part of a vacation is coming back home and yes not to mention, you get complimentary skin and hair problems along with a vast collection of memories that will be cherished lifelong. But do you ever want your skin problems to last longer than few seconds? If your answer is No, then welcome to the gang girl. The first thing I do after I am back from a vacation or even from a long day at work is some self-admiration and coddling. And hello, who doesn't like that?
Dermavive products showed up just in time when I was back from my much-needed trip. The products that I received are Dermavive Intensive Body Hydrating Oil and Dermavive Intimate Wash. But before I tell you more about the products, lets quickly go through the brand overview.
Dermavive is a range of products with natural colloidal oatmeal under UAS Pharmaceuticals. All UAS Pharmaceuticals products are Australian made. Australian Made is an initiative run by the Australian Government itself as a symbol of Australian products worldwide. Dermavive products are being prepared with the help of natural colloidal oatmeal which has time and again proved that it is beneficial for sensitive, dry and itchy skin conditions. UAS Pharmaceuticals has a clear vision and mission to make premium skincare products in the quickest sustainable time possible. They believe that "A healthy skin, is a happy skin, is a beautiful skin". Check out Dermavive and UAS Pharmaceuticals to know more about the brand.
Coming back to the products, I will start reviewing the products one by one.
Dermavive Intensive Body Hydrating Oil
The first product that I received is Dermavive Intensive Body Hydrating Oil. As you all know, that my facial skin is oily, but my body skin type is dry. Yes, this sucks when you have to carry two different kind of moisturizers for face and body. But I can't really help it. Can you? Please help your girl and do let me know how you manage to keep your face and body moisturized with one single product. Meanwhile, let me give you a quick insight into the ingredients of this product that we have here.
1. Natural Colloidal Oatmeal
Natural Colloidal Oatmeal helps in keeping the skin barrier replenished. Other interesting property of oatmeal is that it helps in maintaining the normal pH of the skin (pH 6). But this is not all, oat helps in locking moisture, prevents skin itching, has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. One ingredient multiple benefits.
2. Sodium PCA
Next we have is Sodium PCA, which is widely used in retaining moisture and elasticity of the skin. This ingredient is mostly responsible for keeping the skin soft, supple and nourished.
3. Liquid Paraffin
The third ingredient that we have here is Liquid Paraffin. Many people gets confused with liquid paraffin and think that it is harmful for skin because it is classified under the mineral oil label. To be honest, that is the first thing that came into my mind when I checked the ingredient. But after doing a little bit of research and reading some blogs by dermatologists and their take on liquid paraffin, I got to know that it is highly refined mineral oil that is even safe for ingestion. Few other blogs did mention, that liquid paraffin doesn't actually replenish the skin with moisture but gives an illusion of moisture. It is somewhat inconclusive to me whether or not this ingredient is harmful. I have used this product for a while and did not observe any side effects as of now.
My observations after using Dermavive Intensive Hydrating Oil:
1. My skin became soft, supple and felt nourished for the whole day. I tend to apply the hydrating oil just after the shower. You can also apply it by mixing it with warm water, which is actually a good idea to make the oil spread to your body quickly. Also, it's economical, lol xD.
2. The application is greasy for easy spread and it is easily absorbed by the skin. No greasiness or sticky residue observed after application.
3. No itchiness/allergy observed. The only fragrance is that of the natural colloidal oatmeal. No artificial fragrance observed.
4. Comes in a compact tube and travel-friendly.
5. Suitable for babies, children and adults.
Dermavive Intimate Wash
So the next product we have here is Dermavive Intimate Wash. If you are a boy, it's a good time to stop right here before contemplating your decision. Though I believe that a man must know about all the aspects of female hygiene and everybody should be open to talks like this. But, on a serious note, I would not tolerate any nasty comments or judgmental reviews afterward. So if you are going to bombard your negative outlook and spam me, boy bye! But if you are a gentleman and want to provide the females in your life with better hygiene, then stay.
We all know that how important it is to maintain a good lifestyle, eating habits and hygiene. But most of the girls, neglect the hygiene of their intimate areas. Please do not neglect it. Trust me, it is as important as maintaining your skin or hair or face or any other body part. Let's see what this product is made of apart from Natural Colloidal Oatmeal and Sodium PCA.
Farnesol is used as a deodorant in the skincare industry and helps to suppress foul odor in the intimate areas. It also has anti-bacterial properties which makes it a quite a good pick for this product.
Triclocarban is used as a soap replacement because it helps in reducing the bacteria count on the skin and works better than just a soap because of its antimicrobial property.
Trehalose is another ingredient that helps in moisture retention and has water binding and anti-oxidant properties. It helps in keeping the intimate area moisturized and hydrated.
My observations about Dermavive Intimate Wash are:
1. It is soap free. Gently apply it over your intimate area and rinse it. That's it. It definitely had a refreshing feel.
2. Burning sensations in the intimate areas are reduced considerably.
3. No skin irritation or allergies observed.
4. No foul odour noted which makes it a great product for me.
5. Comes in a compact bottle and travel-friendly.
6. It is gynaecologically tested and safe for everyday use. Can be used by adoloscent females and all ages above.
1. Will I recommend Dermavive to others?
Yes, I would definitely recommend Dermavive to others because first, they are Australian made and second because they use natural colloidal oatmeal as the key ingredient. Natural Colloidal Oatmeal is being recognized by US FDA and works wonder for dry skin.
2. Value for money?
I believe the products are a little bit expensive but I am sure we can pay this price for maintaining our intimate areas' hygiene.
3. Will I repurchase products from Dermavive?
4. Which product did I like the most?
It has to be Dermavive Intimate Wash definitely. I am actually using the product on daily basis now and I can literally feel the difference.
5. Any cons of using Dermavive’s products?
I did not find any cons after using both the products. Since many people are skeptical of using products that have liquid paraffin in it, I would suggest that you consult your dermatologist before buying or using Dermavive Intensive Hydrating Oil. For Dermavive Intimate Wash, I would recommend a go-ahead only after a patch test. A patch test is very important because the products that might work on my body may not work in the same fashion in yours.
