Binge on Basics’ readers already know about the fashion trends that are currently on the hit list and is being religiously followed by the It-fashion girls around the globe. In today’s fashion forward world, fashion trends become ancient history in the blink of an eye. So, you have to be on your toes every time to maintain your impeccable and on-trend style game. Unfortunately, this has not been a possibility for most girls lately. I have known many girls who love to overhaul their closet every season with the snazziest of trends. But this year it has been different because of the rapidly changing fashion trends. You buy one thing and the next day another fashion trend hit the streets. It is hard to admit but every fashion trend comes with an expiration date. It is infuriating to see your brand-new item going off the shelf and especially when you bought it after months of anticipation. This is the sole reason why I always tell you to invest in the basics and classic pieces that are not eaten away by time. There are plenty of tried-and-true pieces for casual, party wear, office wear and literally for every style, you could think of. Wanna go for a city stroll or brunch, style your classic white tee with denim and accessorize your look with pieces that are in the spotlight. Thinking what to wear for the much-awaited girls’ night out? Try out the little black dress and team it up with chunky jewelry and high heels. Can’t think of anything to wear to work? Well, don’t you have the classic white shirt that makes you office-ready instantly? It becomes tricky when you want to quickly style ethnic wear to the office.
It is hard to get onboard with styling ethnic for our everyday life but styling it to the office feels like the job of modelesque persons only. Many girls shy away from wearing ethnic to the office because for them it seems like they are putting their insecurities on display. Wearing ethnic is itself intimidating that wearing it to work almost seems impossible. I know you are scared to test-drive a million ways to wear ethnic outfits for your next meeting. But fret not, I am presenting you the most uncomplicated ethnic ensemble for to spruce up your formal look. I am taking a little pride in myself here, as I am going to direct you the steps to quickly style ethnic wear to the office.
Basics first, always. There is no shame in being a repeat offender when it comes to reusing the classic and timeless pieces. One such wardrobe staple is a black top. The neutral shades, especially the blacks and whites will never fade out. A little black dress or a white classic shirt is as much in trend now as it was a decade ago. I have chosen a black tee with round neck and half sleeves, to make it befitting for your work environment. Next, I subtly added a button down A-line midi skirt and tucked in my black top neatly. An all-black work outfit usually portrays a powerful sartorial statement. We are, however, up for playing modern ethnic inside the office precinct. To add the dash of ethnicity, I added a long white mesh embroidered scarf along my neckline. For a slimmer silhouette and for the sake of simplicity, I wore a wide black belt with square buckle. Although all my pieces are western, the scarf is a surefire way to bring the modern ethnic vibes. Moving ahead by embracing this season’s one of the most out-there trends, the barely-there floss sandals. These elegant pair of black floss heels make the look neither too somber not too severe.
You all know about my unwavering love for accessories. Choosing office-appropriate accessories is a skill that everyone cannot master. You cannot just throw in anything and wish that it will blend well in the office atmosphere. Keeping the accessories minimal and not over the top is the key to creating a foolproof office look. Keeping the basics in mind, I once again put my trust on silver hoop earrings. Sometimes, I love to power-accessorize. So, I had to add a bag that will not only compliment my look but will elevate my office ensemble without breaking the working code. One of the prime reasons for avoiding ethnic wear in the office is that we do not have the right accessories to pair with an ethnic ensemble. Imagine yourself wearing traditionally rich attire and carrying a black tough laptop backpack with it. Doesn’t it sound way too weird? In times like this, brands like Zouk come to our rescue. To keep my office look purely modern-ethnic, I did not want to deviate from the ethnicity at all. Since bags are an important accessory that you take to work, it has to be something that is as modern as ethnic. So, I choose to settle proudly with Zouk Ikat MaroWave Laptop Bag. This laptop bag is made of vegan leather and JuteKhadi Fabric. Not just the print is depicting our culture and tradition, but the materials used in the making of this bag is connected strongly to our cultural roots. The Ikat print is itself a huge trend in the fashion sphere, which makes the laptop bag trend-proof. For a laptop bag, we cannot just rely on outer appearance. We have to make sure that it is well-suited for keeping the laptop safe from external damages. This laptop bag has a padded compartment for laptop and can house laptops up to 15.6 inches screen size. A side strap along with water resistant properties makes it easier to take with you while traveling. It has a separate compartment to keep your notes, pens and a special front compartment for ease of access. It is highly functional and handcrafted beautifully which makes it proudly Indian.
There is no need to shy away from donning modern-ethnic now. Level up your ethnic style game by embracing accessories with a dash of ethnicity. Be ready to field tons of compliments coming your way with this infallible method of styling ethnic wear to the office.
